General Rule for Protecting your Furniture

Covering outdoor furniture during the winter months will help maintain a like-new appearance and lessen the frequency of cleaning. Frames & Woven

Cleaning your furniture a minimum of twice a season with a furniture-specific product is recommended. Laacke & Joys has

in-stock Gordon Feron cleaning products. Applying these products with a soft sponge will derive the best results and care for your furniture.

Slings, Cushions & Umbrellas

Store or cover all cushions & umbrellas when not in use. Laacke & Joys has in-stock cushion storage bags as well as umbrella covers. Make sure your cushions are completely dry before storing. Use a mild soap and damp cloth to wipe up minor spills on cushions and slings. Always close your umbrella when not in use or when high winds are present or predicted.

Touch-up

Touch-up paints are available for special ordering from most manufacturers carried in the Laacke & Joys in-stock furniture assortment.

Winter Storage

Whenever possible, store your furniture indoors for the winter, or use a Protective Cover. Always store your furniture right side up. Storing your furniture upside down could cause improper drainage and freeze damage. Be sure to drain any accumulated water inside frames before winter storage. If not done, trapped water will freeze and expand causing frames to crack.
